Here are the main points of the file:
- Purpose: Byga Groups provide enhanced messaging and calendaring capabilities beyond standard User Roles and Permissions.
- Access: Byga Groups are located in "Admin → Groups."
- Types of Groups/Roles:
- Club-wide Roles/Groups: Cannot be associated with specific teams.
- Team Roles/Groups: Can be associated with specific teams (creation in General Settings → Permissions).
- Managing Groups (Section 1):
- Individual Group Menu Options: Settings (name, description, messaging access, inherit club staff permissions), Permissions (granular control), Delete.
- Club-wide Role/Group Settings (1.1):
- Options for "Include in Club staff role?" (inherits permissions).
- "Who can message this group?" settings: Club admins only, Club and team admin, All users.
- Mobile chat setting (enables/disables chat for the group if chat is enabled club-wide).
- Controls to disable event creation and disable team admins from messaging the group.
- Team Roles/Groups Settings (1.2):
- Similar settings to Club-wide groups, but messaging control differs: appears to users with unscoped permission to message player contacts or team staff.
- Controls to disable event creation and disable group messaging.
- Assigning Users to Groups (1.3): Refer to the User Management document.
- Group Admins (1.4): Users with "Can update user groups" permission automatically become group admins, allowing them to add/remove users and promote others to group admin within that specific group (not applicable to Team Groups). Useful for managing changing groups like volunteers.
- Using Groups (Section 2):
- Byga Groups Schedule (2.1): Available on both the web app and mobile app.
- Byga Groups Users (2.2): Viewable on web and mobile apps. Users within a group can be exported.
- Byga Groups Messaging (2.3): Available on both web and mobile apps to message group members.
- Byga Groups Messaging - Mobile App (2.4): Confirms support for schedules, member lists, and messaging on the mobile app.
- Permissions (Section 3):
- Administrative access to group setup requires "Manage Club Settings" permission (typically for Commissioner role).
- "Manage Chats" global permission allows deleting chat messages in any group.
