Centralized Practice Scheduling
Byga can be used to centrally create, publish and manage a club’s practice schedules. This is one of the scheduling tools available on Byga found within the Scheduling tab.
- Club Practice Scheduler - the topic of this document.
- Home Field Reservations - used for game scheduling
- League / Conference Coordination - used for travel league scheduling
There are two main stages in a centralized practice schedule. How various aspects of the practice schedule are managed will be impacted by the stage of the practice schedule.
- Draft practice schedule
- Published practice schedule
Note, team staff can also create custom events that are Practice event type. These practices are outside of the scope of this document.
Draft Practice Schedule View by Field
The Draft practice schedule provides a view by field.
Draft Practice Schedule View by Coach
The Draft practice schedule provides a view by coach.
Starting a New Practice Schedule
When starting a new centralized practice, one option is to click on the “+ New Schedule” and a second option is to clone a draft practice schedule.
When using the “+ New Schedule” to create a new practice schedule, provide a descriptive name and a start and end date for the schedule.
Draft Schedule Menu
On the list of the existing Practice Schedules, the menu for draft schedules include the following:
- Settings: can update the name, the start date and the end date
- Clone: creates a draft schedule using a particular week as the weekly template
- Go live: publishes the schedule to associated teams and fields
- Get preview link: this link can be shared with coaches to view their own team’s first week schedule
- Delete: removes the schedule from the list and the practices from team calendars
Name and Dates Settings
Note, the schedule will be defined in one week increments and will then be duplicated each week of the schedule when the schedule goes live. If created via the Clone option, these parameters can be updated.
